An alternative is Gold Coast Airport.

Travelers Tips

Check your Terminal

Brisbane has separate Domestic and International terminals.  Make sure you know which one you are arriving or departing from so you can let organise your hire car or airport pick up service for the right place.

Wheelchair Access

Brisbane International is a full international airport with all the facilities you would expect including wheelchair access to aircraft via ramps and air-bridges.

First and Business Class Travel

Some of the international airlines offer first class, business and economy options on flights into Brisbane.  Each airline has it's own standards for these classes of travel and some airlines use older versions of their aircraft to fly the Brisbane services.

I highly recommend ASK and don't assume - so you are prepared for your flight especially on a long haul flight.  It's a long time to be miserable and not a great start to your holiday.

Charter Flights

If you don’t want to use public transport at all, Brisbane Airport also has facilities for charter flights and private jets – subject to customs, quarantine and immigration rules and airport regulations.

Helicopter transfers direct to the Gold Coast are also available. If you stay at a resort with a helipad this can be a very fast and efficient way to transfer directly to your Gold Coast accommodation.
