It seems when it comes to awards the restaurants in Broadbeach seem to come up trumps!

When I first wrote this page in 2008, we certainly had our fair share of great restaurants. The question is, have they stood the test of time or have things moved on with new restaurants opening and old ones closing?

• Four Winds Revolving Restaurant at The Crowne Plaza which is a bit of a shoe in as it is halfway between Surfers and Broadbeach! And I like it because it is actually great for families.

As you can see there are a few overall Gold Coast winners in there, some honourable mentions and some fantastic suggestions of places to eat in Broadbeach.

One thing I noticed when I was compiling this list is that Broadbeach seems to be falling a little behind some other parts of the Gold Coast for new restaurants in particular.

Some of the 2008 winners have also lost their crowns over the last few years and some restaurants in Broadbeach are no longer around, which is a shame.

It will be interesting to see when the 2012 Awards are announced whether Broadbeach restauranteurs have lifted their game and manage to gain more of the top spots.

There is no doubt, that Broadbeach certainly has a significant share of some of the best restaurants in the Gold Coast. I hope you manage to enjoy some of the restaurants mentioned here and would love to hear your comments.

Alto Cucina and Bar at Broadbeach

Alto Cucina is at the beach end of Broadbeach Mall in the Oasis Shopping Centre. 

I'm a breakfast person, so I am really looking forward to find out what a Queensland Award winning breakfast is like! 

This will no doubt set a new bar for breakfasts in the future!

Bistro Blanc is located under The Wave Resort on Surf Parade. Whenever I have passed this bistro it has been buzzing.

Moo Moo The Wine Bar and Grill at Broadbeach

2008 Winner Best Steak Restaurant Award

I've not eaten at the grill, but the Moo Moo Wine Bar is a popular spot for  drinks.

It will have to be something special for me to give up my favourite Cav's Steakhouse.

Located at Mantra's Broadbeach on the Park Resort opposite the Sofitel Hotel - Moo Moo is open 7 days for lunch and dinner.

Another plus for this restaurant is that you can park under the building for free.

Oberoi's Taj at Broadbeach

This Gold Coast indian restaurant is open 7 days from 12.00 noon until late each night. It is fully licensed or you can BYO wine. They also do takeaway which could be useful if you are staying in one of the nearby apartments or hotels.

2008 Winner Best Chinese Restaurant Award

Zen is inside Jupiters Casino and offers Chinese cuisine daily for lunch and dinner.

Lunch is from 12.00 noon until 2.30pm. Dinner is from 6.00pm.
