Can Visitors From Overseas Buy National VIP Pass

by Freddi
(Singapore)

Can visitors from overseas buy the National VIP Pass for SeaWorld, MovieWorld and Wet n Wild entry?

Is it the best option for visiting the 3 Gold Coast theme parks?

Annie Answers
The National VIP Pass is available to overseas visitors as long as they take their passport and VIP Pass voucher to the front gates.

The National VIP Pass is for unlimited entry to the Village Roadshow Theme Parks on the Gold Coast Australia: Sea World, MovieWorld and Wet n Wild; until 30 June.

There are specific terms and conditions you can read them when you get to the booking page, but another important one is that you must present your voucher within 120 days of purchase - so buy ahead... just not too far ahead!

You MUST take your passport with you when you visit as they need to check your identity. They will not let you in if you do not have your passport and voucher. The details are on the vouchers when you have bought them. You will need to fill in a Season Pass Agreement and bring it with you too.

Locals (Australians and NZers) need to fill in a season pass application and bring ID too, you will find details when you book.

In short, The National VIP Pass appears to be the cheapest option for adults if:
  • you plan to visit any of the three Gold Coast Theme parks covered by the National VIP Pass more than once

  • you plan to visit all three parks at least once

It gets a bit more complicated for children's tickets, but you could save a bit if you only plan to visit 2 of the park you could choose a different pass.

I hope that answers your question, if you have any more please post in the comments below.

Can the VIP pass be sold to other people?
by: Anonymous

I bought 2 VIP pass in Nov 2010 but didn't use them. Can I sell them to other people? (I am from Canada, have changed my travel plan). Thanks!

Annie Answers
If you read the Terms and Conditions it states you cannot sell them to other people once you have purchased them. If you have travel insurance, you might want to see if that covers it, I am not sure. But just a thougtht.

ID requirements
by: Annie

Michelle,
Photo ID is required only the first time they visit. It is required so they can verify. I am not sure ithat a photocopy would be okay. I am away at the moment when I get back next week I will verify this for you. If it is urgent then call the parks directly.
Annie

PS:: All of the three theme parks that are part of the National VIP Pass deal Sea World, Movie World and Wet n Wild have coin operated lockers to put your things in.

When you say take your passport for ID,(We are from NZ) do you think it would be ok to take a copy of your passport instead? I am hesitant about my children wandering around and loosing their passports there! Thanks

New Update on Sale Dates For Passes
by: Annie

Jason, Thanks for your question. The 120 day requirement still stands, however, the sale period dates have been extended to 30 June 2011, so you can purchase your pass closer to your expected visit date.

I still recommend you purchase on line and print the vouchers off, as it saves you time at the gate when you get to your first park. Don't forget your passport though, if you are coming from overseas.

Enjoy the pass! Annie

VIP Pass for Overseas Tourist
by: Jason

If I'm going to Gold Coast only in April 2011, can I purchase the VIP pass now? Will the pass still be valid as I'm purchasing it for more than 120days before I visit any of the parks?
