Australian Gold Coast in March

Gold Coast beaches in March are a great place to be. This one is at Coolangatta.
So many Gold Coast beaches to choose from! This photo is of Coolangatta Greenmount Beach stretching towards Kirra with Burleigh in the distance. Each beach has its own personality. March is a great time to explore the different beaches.

Beach Vacation Time The Gold Coast in March?

There simply isn’t anywhere better for a beach vacation! It might be autumn but it is sizzling. March is a personal favourite of mine!

Lots of local surf and surf lifesaving events are held this month. You'll also find the pro-surfers in town to catch the great surf at this time of year!

If surfing is not your thing you can walk, play, laze on one of the amazing beaches.

Why not try a new beach each day!

Other great activities at this time of year are the theme parks, deep sea and reef fishing or bird watching in the rainforest.

The Gold Coast in March is definitely a month when there is so much to do, so little time. Make sure you plan well!

Tips for Travelers to Gold Coast in March

For Australian Visitors

A great time to visit, especially if you do not have school aged children.

Accommodation with air-conditioning is highly recommended at this time of year.

For Visitors from Overseas

March is still hot by most peoples standards but seems much more bearable than the summer months.

When Easter falls in March sometimes the school holidays don't coincide with Easter. In the main areas most businesses catering for visitors remain open throughout Easter, but if you are off the beaten track a little be conscious that holidays to Aussies are sacred and most things will be shut! Especially Good Friday.

Good quality, air-conditioned accommodation in a good location is still the best pick for a beach vacation.
