January 2009 Update
I was really happy to see Matsuzaka at Aqua re-opened. I thought it had gone for good! The restaurant has been remodelled completely and they have dropped chinese from their menu, focussing purely on Japanase cuisine and Teppenyaki. Worth a try if you like Japanese food.

Sept 2008 Update
I was very sad to see this restaurant close down, but that does seem to happen a bit on the Gold Coast. And I guess a warning to make sure you check more recent reviews as things change often!

Matsusaka restaurant is an awesome place for Teppanyaki!

I was a bit sceptical when I arrived for Teppanyaki and saw they also served Chinese food. They are not two cuisines I would expect to see together!

I was incredibly, pleasantly surprised. We had outstanding food, served by our own Teppanyaki Chef who was very entertaining!  The service and atmosphere was brilliant.

We had a child with us who was only just 5 years old and two 10 year olds.  They looked after the children as if they were royalty!  The children even got a special teppanyaki menu.

It turns out that the owners of Matsuzaka restaurant also have restaurants in Hong Kong – which says it all to me. 

They really know how to run a good restaurant.  The service and food, is one of the best in Aqua.  This is one of the few restaurants in Aqua that has not changed hands since it was opened.

Do not be put off with the two types of cuisine – this is a worthwhile restaurant to visit, whether you are after Teppanyaki, Chinese cuisine or Dim Sims.
