About SuperGP Surfers Paradise

Super GP is the major motor sport event in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast each October. It was previously the Gold Coast Indy until it was replaced starting with the 2009 season.

Please Note: As of 17 October 2009 it was announced that A1GP, the international country based A1 GP World Cup Of Motorsport racing cars, were not coming to the Gold Coast event.

The new format 4 day carnival includes Australian V8 Super Cars, where General Motors Holden and Ford V8s battle it out for supremacy!

With the new format the V8 Supercars now take centre stage with four 150km races. This is the longest longest distance raced all year by these cars outside of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 which was is held at the beginning of October each year.

In addition other support races include Aussie cars and Formula Ford races.

As well as the track based races there are many events, breakfasts, lunches, dinners and entertainment that is scheduled to be run around the carnival to make this a real party atmosphere.

For visitors to SuperGP it is a great atmosphere and staying in Surfers Paradise or Main Beach is definitely the best option to really get the most out of the event.
