Valentines Day Gold Coast Ideas and Suggestions

There are lots of romantic things to do with your valentine in the Gold Coast.

And, in my opinion, you don't have to wait until the official day to have some fun!

If you want to just be romantic, have a special time with you partner or just do some of these awesome things - there's no reason to wait for one specific day of the year!

For example there's always lots of romantic things to do at Marina Mirage, but on Valentines Day 2015 there are a few extra touches.

On this page I have tried to include some ideas that will appeal to the romantic, to the daring and to those who are just looking for some inspiration.

This is especially for those who are visiting the Gold Coast and don't quite know where to go or what to do.

14 February around the world is a day of love! Or at least an opportunity to express our love, reveal our love, ask our Valentine to marry us, or just an excuse to get flowers, eat chocolates and do something romantic!

There are plenty of ways to express your love on the Gold Coast on Valentines Day, but if you are lost for ideas I have a few to help you out!

Eating out is a popular expression of love on St Valentines Day, along with red roses and boxes of chocolates.

The Gold Coast isn't particularly famous for any special chocolates unlike Adelaide in South Australia and their amazing Haig's Chocolates nor any particular flowers.

However, we do have quite a few idyllic spots for romantics to enjoy. And.... we have some rather special and memorable activities that lend themselves perfectly to making an impression!

Below I have included a selection of places to eat, places to visit and memorable activities that couples might enjoy on Valentines Day, or any other day you feel like being romantic.

Romantic Water Activities for Valentines Day Gold Coast

Whilst some river cruise companies are creating special Valentines Day lunch cruises such as Rivers Cruises from Marina Mirag), you don't have to go with a full on Valentines themed cruise.

Check out Gold Coast cruise options and book in early for a memorable cruise through the canals of the Gold Coast or up the Broadwater to Sanctuary Cove for lunch and some shopping or to the idyllic McLaren's Landing private island hideaway with Tall Ship Cruises.

Valentines Day Ideas Around Marina Mirage 2015

The perfect Valentines Day (or any other romantic day) outing at Marina Mirage. Here are some specific ideas for Valentines Day 2015.

Spend the perfect day with your special someone, experiencing some of the best fresh produce the Gold Coast has to offer.

When Valentines Day falls on a Saturday you can enjoy the farmers markets! And if it doesn't then the Saturday before Valentines is sure to include all types of baked goods, fresh fruit and veggies, homegrown coffee beans, a lovely array of flowers,

Look out for De Granvelle’s Belgium Chocolate stall, in case you want to spoil your Valentine or just want something decadent.

If you’re feeling like a health boost after indulging the rich deliciousness that the markets have to offer, no need to worry.

There is a range of stalls that sell vegan, vegetarian or gluten free to satisfy all your dietary needs.

Marina Mirage is home to some amazing top brands that are just the trick if you need a gift for your someone special. Indulge in the creme de la creme of fashion brands such as: Pandora, Hermes, Tommy Hilfiger, Zimmerman, French Connection, Tommy Bahama and Calvin Klein.

And when you've shopped till you need to drop why not unwind, by sitting down and enjoying a decadent lunch at Palazzo Versace’s Vie Bar and Restaurant with their Special Valentine’s Day 3 course set menu for only $125 per person + a glass of Moet Chandon Rose on arrival. Lunch starts from 12pm and ends at 3pm.

Palazzo Versace’s 6 star hotel is less than a minute’s walk away from Marina Mirage.

If a romantic dinner is more your style, Marina Mirage’s top restaurants have got you covered.

Fellini is offering a special Valentine’s Day 6-course Degustation Menu, plus a choice of main for $150 per person.

Glass Dining and Bar Lounge are also offering a special Valentine’s Day Tapas Degustation for Two for $75 per person.

And don't forget one of our favourites Omeros Bros or for something a little sweeter there's always Max Brenner's for a touch of choco-heaven!

There is definitely something dreamily romantic about flying, whether it be in a hot air balloon early in the morning over an amazing landscape or a seaplane or helicopter flight along the coast or to a secret destination.

We have all these possibilities on the Gold Coast and some amazing scenery to burn into your memories or memory sticks ( for photos and videos!)

Here are a few options to check out....

Gold Coast Hinterland and Vineyard Ballooning - what could be more romantic than floating above the Gold Coast hinterland early in the morning and then enjoying a champagne breakfast?

Well, maybe combining your ballooning with some time at O'Reilly's Plateau and a spot of wine tasting at a vineyard and a private limousine to take you between these amazing experiences...

Consider a winery tour to one of the wineries in the area.

Byron Bay SkyDive - well it starts out as a flight and ends in freefall and parachuting... if the above adventures in the air are too tame for your and your Valentine, why not up the stakes with an adventure to remember! You wouldn't want to drop your ring if you proposed on the way down!

Romantic Getaways for Valentines Day Gold Coast

I'd have to say this would be one of my ultimate getaways for a romantic adventure!

Head up to the Great Barrier Reef, Fraser Island or both for a getaway that will take your breath away and an experience you and your partner will never forget!

There are several options for island tours to choose from ranging from a day tour to several days away.

Romantic Lunches and Dinners for Valentines Day Gold Coast

On Valentines Day, just like Mothers Day, if you have any special restaurant discount vouchers or coupons, the chances are they are not valid.

If you are expecting a discount for your Valentines dinner or lunch, check before you book so you are not disappointed.

Here are a selection of special lunches and dinners around on Valentines Day in Gold Coast...

Bumbles Cafe in sleepy Budds Beach usually host a special Valentines Dinner.

Surprise your Valentine with a romantic dinner in this location just behind Surfers Paradise but on the river.

The food is always amazing and the atmosphere is something quite unusual.

The Valentines dinner will be popular - book ahead.

Oskars at Burleigh - this one wins hands down for a romantic spot. View over the ocean and up the coast to Surfers. Fabulous food

Citrique is the fantastic restaurant in Marriott at Surfer Paradise. This buffet style restaurant has 4 zones as well as an a la carte menu. The location is fabulous with a great outlook over the famous Marriott lagoon pool.

Last year they had for Valentines Day their famous Seafood buffet as well a selection of Food for Lovers and an amazing dessert buffet selection.

Food for Lovers? Those with apparent aphrodisiac properties... maybe get a room too while you are at it!

Omeros Bros at Marina Mirage, another favourite if you love Seafood, then this could be the one for you. And if you love chocolate then there's always chocolate on the menu at Max Brenners just around the corner!

Salt Grill at the Hilton Surfers Paradise usually have a Valentines Day menu with a glass of bubbly on arrival. Definitely need to book this one ahead.

Bookings for all these activities, lunches or dinners are essential. Most require that you pay when you book.

Oasis Shopping Centre in Broadbeach has a couple of great little places to eat.

Looking for something to surprise your loved one? Then head to speciality cupcake maker in Southport, just over the Chevron Island Bridge, you'll find Simply Cupcakes - totally delicious and decadent and beautifully decorated to melt anyone's heart!
