Gold Coast Family Accomodation Ideas

There are so many family friendly places to stay, and there is certainly plenty for families of any age or tastes to enjoy.  The biggest difficulty in recommending any one thing, is that it really depends what you are looking for.

Family holiday accomodation on the Gold Coast includes:

• cabins
• caravan parks
• villas
• self-catering apartments
• hotels
• resorts

For me the ultimate family holiday resort has the following attributes:

• family accomodation that gives parents a retreat away from the kids once they are in bed at night

• central to all the local action

• selection of activities in the resort

• good kids club!

There is only one resort that completely fits this bill for me as a family resort in the Gold Coast and that is Paradise Resort in Surfers Paradise.


That said, there are other family resorts that are also great choices for your Gold Coast family holidays.

In addition to the standard hotel style resorts, Gold Coast has many apartment resorts which offer great self-contained apartments with excellent on-site facilities.  

Things To Do On The Gold Coast

There is certainly no shortage of activities in the Gold Coast for family holidays.  Apart from the beaches, rivers and water activities, there are many family friendly attractions such as:

• Wildlife Parks
• Day Tours and Cruises
• Adventure Activities

The Gold Coast does enjoy great weather most of the time.  But from time to time it rains.  I have included a rainy day activity guide to give you some tips and suggestions as to what to do when it rains.  There is still plenty to do.
