Best Time to Visit Gold Coast for Cheapest Accommodation

When is the best time to visit Gold Coast for cheapest accommodation rates?
There isn't exactly one time when you can find the lowest prices for accommodation on Gold Coast.
There are several times during the year when you'll find the cycle of peak and off peak rates lead to cheap accommodation in the Gold Coast.
These times of the year roughly correspond with the times when school children (in particular Queensland school children) are at school. In other words Queensland School Term Dates.
Very roughly, term dates in Queensland are as follows:
Term 1: Late January to Late March (though can be affected by where Easter falls each year)
Term 2: April to end of June
Term 3: Mid July to Mid September
Term 4: October to 2nd week of December
These are very approximate and do change each year - see School Holidays for more information.
However, there are also other events in the Gold Coast which can affect the price of accommodation. For example during late October each year we have the Gold Coast 600 V8 Supercar Event in Surfers Paradise and prices spike for that.
If you have the luxury to travel outside school holiday times and avoid any major events, there are some great deals on accommodation to be had. The quieter times (and therefore the times when you are most likely to pick up a bargain) on the Gold Coast are February, Early March, May, Early June, late July, August, early September, some of October, early November and early December before Christmas.
When will you be able to find the cheapest holiday accommodation rates on the Gold Coast? I cannot answer that exactly as there are many other seasonal, cyclical and local factors that can affect that from year to year but you should be able to narrow down your search and then check for great deals.
