About Gold Coast 600 Surfers Paradise
2018 Gold Coast 600 Dates:
Friday 19 to Sunday 21 October 2018
The GC600 is raced over a shorter race track than the previous Gold Coast Indy.
It is a 3 day carnival and instead of Indy cars and Australian V8
Super Cars, this event has the V8s as the main race.
You will see General Motors Holden and Ford V8s battle it out for supremacy and International drivers from other racing categories such as NASCAR and Indy.
The V8 Supercars take centre stage and this is the longest longest distance raced all year by these cars outside of the Bathurst 1000 which is usually held earlier in October before the GC600.
In addition other support races include Aussie cars and Formula Ford races.
There is usually a huge entertainment line up on the Saturday night called Gold Coast Sounds 600.
There's an entertainment precinct in Broadwater Parklands (they tried in Surfers Paradise, but Broadwater Parklands is a great entertainment space).
During the month of October, there were also many lead up events especially within the last 8 or so days leading into the actual race period.
For visitors, Gold Coast 600 Surfers Paradise has a great atmosphere and staying in Surfers Paradise or Main Beach is definitely the best option to really get the most out of the event.

Helicopter and water taxi transfers were also available in previous years.
The G:Link Trams are one of the best options to get to the event now, with ticket entrances very close to the G:Link stations.
If approaching the track from Southport you can get off at Main Beach Station and then proceed to Gate 1 which has ticket booths as well as general entry. If coming from the south in Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach, get off at North Surfers Paradise Station and walk towards the beachfront and The Esplanade, for Gate 6 Entry and Ticket Booths.
G:Link will be one of the easiest ways for getting to this event! So, if you are looking for accommodation, staying close to one of the G:Link stops could be a great idea ;-)
