Trying to capture the moment with still shots is good, but video gives you even more depth of feeling for the experience. Moving pictures, sounds and capturing reactions bring back the memories when you re watch at home.

Here is a raw video that I took whilst on a whale watch cruise off Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast one August. These whales were just hanging around the boat, it was amazing.

Here is a video of humpback whales taken off the Gold Coast by some visiting Poms (I can say that as I am one too!). I love this video because it captures both the whales and the excitment of seeing these incredible creatures in their own environment.

Regardless of which whale watching tour operator you choose to go with, I think the whales win. Just make sure you get out there and see them!
