Eating out for Christmas dinner is a little less popular than Xmas lunches, but you still need to plan ahead if you want to eat out, as there are even fewer places open for dinner on Christmas day than there are at lunchtime.
On this page, you will find a selection of options and places where you can eat a special dinner on Christmas night.

As I mentioned above, eating out on Christmas night is a little less popular than lunchtime. Relative to lunchtime, many restaurants and cafes are closed for dinner on Christmas night, which leaves a much higher demand for those that are open.
Christmas lunches often have entertainment and visiting Santas. Dinners are generally just food.
Each year it changes, but you may find a few that have Santa and entertainment in the evening as well. This can be quite an important factor, if you are deciding between lunch or dinner on Christmas Day.
Whether you live in the Gold Coast or are just visiting over the Christmas and New Year holidays, planning where to have your Chrissie dinner, researching and booking EARLY helps avoid disappointment and stress!
Bookings are taken ahead of time and many offer buffets (traditional, hot and cold seafood or themed), a set menu or limited choices and usually an all inclusive price. Deposits or full payments are also often required.
Below you will find a selection of links to more information about each of the options. I research this topic myself, and pick out the main ones. This list is NOT exhaustive, there will be many I haven't listed.
You should find a good cross section and if they aren't what you are looking for, they will certainly give you ideas for other options.

Christmas Dinner on Gold Coast - More Options
Here are some more options that I don't have as much detail for, but you can check them out for other Gold Coast Christmas dinner options:
Paradise Resort Christmas dinner is only for inhouse guests, which means the best option is to stay at Paradise Resort for Christmas to enjoy dinner options without having to go anywhere! Buffet lunch and dinner in The Bistro.
Jupiters Gold Coast, Broadbeach - has more options for lunch than dinner but you can still usually eat here on Christmas night.
Sofitel in Broadbeach - they put on a fabulous Christmas themed event each year as well as other Christmas day eating options.
QT Hotel Gold Coast in Surfers Paradise. 2018 TBC - BAZAAR marketplace buffet is usually open for Christmas dinner. Pricing is higher than the normal buffet dinner, and includes many of the trademark Bazaar dishes with some festive twists. BAZAAR is highly recommended with their quirky but delicious food. Approximate Pricing for Buffet Only: $125 Adults | $95 Teens (13-17) | $45 Children (4 - 12 years) | FREE Children under 4 years. QT also have a formal Christmas lunch option in the Ballroom.
Watermark Hotel Surfers Paradise. Usually have a buffet dinner in their fabulous Waves Restaurant. From 6.30pm to 9.30pm for traditional Christmas carvery, hot and cold seafood buffet and desserts. Approximate pricing (2018 TBC) : Adults $100 | Teenager (13-17 years) $70 | Child (4-12 years) $65 | Infant (0-3 years) $10.
NOSH Restaurant at Mantra on View Surfers Paradise Christmas Lunch. Nosh is an Asian influence restaurant. However, they have been known to offer Traditional Christmas Day Dinner with Christmas Buffet including seafood. Dinner is usually from 6pm to 9pm. Also do Christmas Lunch.

Jupiters Gold Coast Christmas Dinner Options
Jupiters Gold Coast Hotel and Casino is located in Broadbeach near Pacific Fair Shopping Centre. If you want to stay at the Jupiters over the Christmas holiday period you will need to book in early. Or you could check out other nearby Broadbeach accommodation options.

Marriott Surfers Paradise Christmas Dinner Options
The Marriott in Surfers Paradise is located at the northern end of Surfers Paradise and has a rather famous swimming pool. Information about a Christmas Dinner event is not available yet, but usually Citrique is open for dinner on Christmas night.

Sheraton Mirage is located opposite Marina Mirage and very close to Palazzo Versace, it is a lovely location to visit for the day or to stay.

Palazzo Versace Christmas Dinner On Gold Coast Options
Palazzo Versace, the only 6 Star hotel on the Gold Coast is located in Main Beach right next to Marina Mirage. It is an iconic hotel that is worth visiting for the sheer art of it. Lavishly decorated and appointed, events here are very chic and stylish. Expect Christmas dinner at Versace to be decadent, delicious and truly memorable. There is only one restaurant at Versace offering dinner on Christmas night and that is Il Barocco. There are several lunch options including entertainment.

Sofitel Broadbeach Christmas Dinner Options
The Sofitel Gold Coast is located in the heart of Broadbeach near the Oasis Shopping Centre. Bistro On3 will be serving dinner on Christmas night. If you want to stay at the Sofitel over the Christmas holiday period you will need to book in early.
