The COVID-19 Pandemic has had a huge impact on local Gold Coast businesses, which rely heavily on visitors from Queensland, interstate and overseas.
During this time, it is hard to keep the website fully up to
date with all the changes. In the meantime here are some resources for visitors.
Our main booking partners for hotels and for tours, tickets, theme parks and activities
are keeping everything up to date, so please use those resources in the
meantime.
Direct
flights from Australian
cities, New Zealand and other pacific locations.
This airport provides a gateway to the Gold Coast for
visitors from within Australia and overseas.
International arrivals and departures are limited.
Please check to see if you will need an Australian Visa to travel to Australia if you are visiting from overseas.
Coolangatta
is definitely a regional airport
rather than a full international airport, but it is in the 21st
century. Expect the usual standards of a international airport
just on a
smaller scale.
The airport is
on one level. No
airbridges. You will most likely have to walk down the stairs of your
aircraft and across the tarmac.
Don’t
forget to look
back towards the hills as you
walk across the tarmac. What a great view! When
they open the doors you
can smell the sub-tropical holiday atmosphere – it always
reminds me
why I live here!
Using this airport generally saves time and sometimes money.
But
check out all the options before you decide. Sometimes a
really
good discount flight or staying in the northern Gold Coast
accommodation can mean that flying into Brisbane may be a
better option for you.

Short
and Long Term Parking – open from 5.00am everyday until last

facilities and disabled toilets including braile signage.
Limited shopping including a newsagent with
some pharmaceutical supplies.
Cafés and food outlets for a quick
snack
Internet kiosk facilities.
Public phones with payment options including
coin, credit and phone cards.
In Terminal 2 for the International travelers:
