Family Passes For Gold Coast Theme Parks In November

Family passes for Gold Coast Theme Parks

I wanted to know if there are any family passes for Gold Coast Theme Parks.

I'm planning to visit Gold Coast for 4 days in November. Our group will be my husband and I plus 3 children aged 7, 12 and 16.

We would like to visit Dreamworld + Movieworld + Seaworld & Whale Watch and even Paradise Country.

What is the best way of purchasing entrance passes? Do the parks offer a 'family package' on the entrance pass?

Also, which park should we visit 1st, what time should we be there, etc

Wow, 4 action packed theme park days in November, should be brilliant. It usually doesn't matter which order you do things in, however it depends upon when you are actually visiting.

Late November is Schoolies week on the Gold Coast. The school leavers from around Queensland and Australia party in Surfers Paradise. The place is busy, noisy and there are lots of 17 and 18 year olds.

Surfers Paradise hosts Schoolies with lots of entertainment only for them, but in reality it is not the best place for a family to be at this time ;-).

Sadly, you want to do the whale watch, however, by November there is no whale watching on the Gold Coast (the whale watching finishes late October). If you want to get out on the water, then you can try one of the cruises around the Broadwater or to South Stradbroke Island which could be of interest if you want to do something on the water.

Dream World Tickets & Suggestions

Dreamworld has passes for families such as the 1 Day Family & Friends Pass.

2 Adults + 2 Children. (3-13 y/o inclusive. Under 3 free)

Any children 14 and over would be considered an adult so you would have to buy a separate ticket for them.

Dreamworld also has a waterpark next door called Whitewater World.

There are different options for going to both parks and for families, this change from time to time, it is best to check when you are ready to buy.

Movie World & Sea World Passes

MovieWorld and SeaWorld are related parks that have special passes. If you plan to go to both theme parks it is usually better value to take up one of the theme park combo passes such as the VIP Pass or the Super Pass* which are specially designed to give great value to visitors both from Australia and from overseas.

VIP Passes are for unlimited entry to all three theme parks until June 30, they are released annually usually around early July but are only available for a limited time. They offer the best value around.

At other times of the year you will find the Super Passes are for unlimited entry for 28 days to all three of the following Gold Coast theme parks: Sea World, Warner Bros. Movie World or Wet n Wild Water World, is also a great option.

To see what is currently available, I recommend you check Latest Deals at Gold Coast Theme Parks, where you will find if the VIP Pass is available or the latest deals for Super Passes.

None of the options for MovieWorld and SeaWorld have family passes, so you will have to buy your tickets individually as 3 Adults and 2 children (3 to 13 years).

Paradise Country also does not offer family passes, however you can buy tickets for the Aussie Farm Tour at Paradise Country here.

Another suggestion is to try to fit in Australian Outback Spectacular Show. It is an evening dinner and show that I think you and your family will remember! It changes from time to time, but the theme is generally similar and a great night out.

I highly recommend you book the show well in advance, it is very popular and you are only in Gold Coast for a few days, and would not like to miss out. There are some nights it is not on, so you will need to go online and check that out. There is also an option to include transfers from your accommodation to the show which is really handy as it is about 25 minutes from Surfers Paradise.

As for your itinerary it is always hard for me to tell you which do do first etc.

Each park is a full day with Sea World probably being the least tiring (a lot more shows than activities than the others, perhaps it is just my family that tears around the parks!).

All the parks open about 10am and close at 5pm.

Dreamworld usually has an early bird that gets you in at 9am so you can ride the big 6 thrill rides.

There is also the Q4U which is great if you want to make sure you get the most out of your day. That has to be booked ahead of time and is best done online, though you need to pick it up when you get inside the theme park.

These options are probably best for adults and older children. On some of the big rides the younger children are too small or too young to ride - usually a height restriction

Paradise Country may be good for your arrival day since you arrive early in the morning. But don't under estimate the time to get out of the airport and to the Gold Coast and settled. I you have a hire car you may be able to go for the afternoon, but if you are relying on theme park transfers it might be a bit harder.

Expect to spend big full on days out at Dreamworld, MovieWorld and a slightly less full on day at SeaWorld. The day you go to Sea World might be a good one to combine with the Australian Outback Spectacular.

If you have any more questions put them in the comments below or contact me directly. You should have an awesome visit in November, let me know how it all turns out.

by: Annie

I just wanted to remind you that the weather is unpredictable, I try to give a balanced view of what you can expect, but weather patterns are definitely not something you can predict!

Thanks for the kind comments, I try to give useful information based on my own experiences and knowledge of the area, I hope it helps.

Great website
by: Anonymous

Thanks for so much *useful* information! Lots of websites have the info on parks, what to do, etc. but your website has lots of info that has helped me makes decisions on when and how to do/plan things. Great tips on the weather - we're coming in August and wasn't sure what the weather would be doing. Cheers
