Main Beach Restaurants Cafes And Eating Out Guide

Main Beach Restaurants - Gold Coast Movers and Shakers...

To me having a coffee or lunch in Tedder Avenue, Main Beach is just like Double Bay in Sydney or Albert Park in Melbourne!

I think it's where Aristotle Onassis would have gone on the Gold Coast for his cup of coffee, if he had lost all his money and wanted to re-invent himself!

There is more to eating in Main Beach than just Tedder Avenue.  Main Beach includes the fabulous restaurants and eateries at Marina Mirage and hotels such as Palazzo Versace and Sheraton Mirage.

I haven't managed to  eat in or write about every restaurant or cafe in Main Beach so any additional information is very welcome.

Favourite Main Beach Restaurants, Cafes and Places to Eat

Here are a small selection of restaurants in Main Beach. I have tried to include a few different options to look at.

Main Beach appears to have a smaller turnover of restaurant owners than Surfers Paradise, so you are more likely to get some consistency.

For casual dining, there are several genera areas to head in Main Beach.

Tedder Avenue with a mixture of fancy dining, bars and dining, casual coffee to Baskin Robbins!

Marina Mirage which has a selection of great eateries of all types. Some are open for dinner, whilst others are just open for the shopping centre hours.

Next door to Marina Mirage is Fisherman's Wharf where you will find more informal dining and eating options.

Let me know what you think of my selections by leaving comments below...

Vanitas Restaurant - Excellent degustation menu and more at this top restaurant in Palazzo Versace. This and the other Palazzo Versace restaurants (Il Barocco and Vie) offer great dining options for main festivals and events, such as Christmas Lunch, Christmas Dinner, Valentines Day, Mothers Day and New Year's Eve dining and ball.

Southport Surf Life Saving Club - right on the beach, open 7 days for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  You cannot beat this view. The verandah overlooks the beach! Visitors are welcome, and it is great to know you are helping to support the local Surf Lifesavers. Great for casual catch up with friends and great food - not what you would expect from a surf club.

Hard Coffee - This is how I like my coffee - hard!  Having lived 11 years in Melbourne, I was extremely spoilt - good coffee on every corner.  In the Gold Coast, you have to hunt for it!  This is one of my favourites!

Omeros Brothers - In Marina Mirage, this is one of the great seafood restaurants on the Gold Coast.  Menu also caters for those who don't eat seafood. Great atmosphere and fabulous views over the marina, day or night.

Max Brenners - Well if you know Max Brenners I really don't need to say anything more... if you like chocolate you need to get yourself over to Marina Mirage for a spot of that feel good stuff. Nothing savoury here - just sweet. Though some of their dark chocolate offerings are not exactly sweet! Italian Hot Chocolates, Chocolate Licks, Waffles, Chocolate Pizzas and of course their rather famous Chocolate Fondues. Expect to queue, especially on weekends! Awesome place!

Lemongrass on Tedder - Thai restaurant on Tedder Avenue, rather famous amongst the locals. If you like Thai, you are bound to enjoy this restaurant.

Peter's Fish Market - nestled between Palazzo Versace and the Fish Co-op where the fishing trawlers come in. I have to say, that I haven't had the best experiences here, but I know plenty of people who will travel to this spot for their fish and chips or anchor offshore and row in.

Do you have a favourite place to eat in Main Beach?

Do you have an absolute favourite in Main Beach that is not on the list yet? Do you have an interesting review of one of the restaurants or cafes in this area?

Along with all visitors to Main Beach, I would love to hear about your dining experiences.

Guidelines for Submissions: PLEASE READ BEFORE SUBMITTING I do have a few guidelines to be fair to everyone. If you want your review to be published, I require you to leave a name (doesn't have to be your whole name, can be initials), where you are from and a valid email address in case I need to contact you. I will only use it if I need to verify any details and it won't be published.

You have more chance of being published by giving a full review, including details of the restaurant itself, what you ate, what you liked and some photos are always a great addition. Please make sure that you are original with your review (as in, not copied from somewhere else) and if you add photos, please make sure they are yours to share.
