Confused About When To Go To Gold Coast

My boyfriend and I are trying to schedule a trip during the summer of 2014. Please help!

We enjoy the beach, deep sea fishing and other summertime activities. Still confused about all the rain. Thanks.

Great question and I hope I can help you out.

Firstly, I need to clarify if you mean northern hemisphere (USA) summer eg June, July and August. Or if you mean southern hemisphere summer which is December, January and February here in Australia.

If you can let me know either in the comments or by contacting me directly which you mean I will be able to give you a better answer.

In the meantime, our wettest months in Gold Coast are our summer months as we have a more tropical style weather pattern with summer storms. It is hot, humid and we do get rain. Unfortunately, the weather has been a bit haywire the last few years so we can have no rain or lots!

Just recently we had tremendous weather in early January followed by an ex tropical cyclone coming down the coast from northern Queensland which brought lots of rain which lasted for a few days. And then we have had bright blue skies and no rain for a few days now.

Usually the rain doesn't stop you from going to the beach or enjoying deep sea fishing etc, but these powerful storms which are rare but possible churn up the ocean and close our beaches for a while.

From March through to October, you are much less likely to have storms or long periods of rain, but on occassion we do. Gold Coast is a year round destination and our winter is usually warm enough to go to the beach and enjoy being on the water.

Hopefully that is a little to be going on with. Please let me know which months you are considering either directly or in the comments and any specific questions and I will try to help you figure out the best time for you.
