The COVID-19 Pandemic has had a huge impact on local Gold Coast businesses, which rely heavily on visitors from Queensland, interstate and overseas.
During this time, it is hard to keep the website fully up to date with all the changes. In the meantime here are some resources for visitors. It's school holiday time again, later in June and there are a few events this month.
The biggest event is Cooly Rocks On, which is pretty amazing for lovers of the 50's and 60's, and there's a traditional local show as well as Country Music to get your boots tapping.

Australian Gold Coast Events June
I often wonder how the month of June on the Gold Coast can be Winter. It is an awesome month!
One of my favourite things about June is that the humpback whales are definitely here and the whale watching cruises start back up for the season.
School holidays from mid to late June through to mid July have an influence on the cost of accommodation, so you are best to book in early to get the best choices. Check school holidays pages for exact dates and state by state breakdown.
There are usually a few events in June including:
- Cooly Rocks On - 1950's comes to Coolangatta!
- Mudgeeraba Show
- Broadbeach Country Music Festival.

Cooly Rocks On

Late June to Early June for about 10 days

Coolangatta and Tweed Heads
Cooly Rocks On replaced Wintersun Festival, with Wintersun moving to Northern NSW.
It is a 50s and 60s nostalgia festival featuring Rock n Roll and Vintage Car classics. A HUGE amount of fun!
There are various events on over the first 8 days that build up to the Grand Finale weekend where you will see live entertainment and stalls and a packed program from sun up to sun down.

Broadbeach Country Music Festival

Friday, Saturday & Sunday mid to late June

Broadbeach
Dubbed as "where the Country meets the Coast", last year was the first time on the Gold Coast for this festival. This free event celebrates a range of country music from Australian and International country artists. The line ups usually have a range of country stars and up and commers.
This festival is free so everyone can enjoy three days and nights of entretainment around Broadbeach on outdoor stages and other venues. To get the most out of this festival, staying in Broadbeach would be awesome!

Mudgeeraba Show

The Mudgeeraba Show on the Gold Coast at the Mudgeeraba Showgrounds is a great opportunity to meet the locals and experience a good Aussie Country Show. See livestock displays, feel the Show atmosphere, enjoy the entertainment, eat some local home made treats and take home some unique souvenirs.
